Our purpose
Far too much knowledge ends up as a report that few people read to the end. Knowledge created to make a real difference should also be usable — by more people and in more ways. That's why we bring publications to life.Tailored to the individual
Not everyone reads the same way. A decision-maker, a journalist, a practitioner and a student have very different needs. Nyvaerk meets them with different formats, so the same knowledge becomes useful to more people.Not-for-profit
When Nyvaerk earns money, it is distributed in three ways:
- Operations and development. One part goes to running and developing Nyvaerk.
- The founders. One part goes to paying the founders for the initial work of developing the technology and the process — work they were not paid for. This way we avoid a classic exit as the means of compensating founders for all the early work.
- Internal fund. One part is set aside in an internal fund, for lack of a better word. Here, organisations can apply to receive a living publication free of charge.

Nyvaerk is not a quick tech fix or an off-the-shelf solution. Every living publication is tailored to the specific report, its subject matter and the people it needs to reach.
We have worked with communicating complex academic knowledge for many years. We know that different audiences need different ways into the material. Real people assess how each report is best communicated, placed in context and quality-assured before it is published.
